The Gulf States Health Policy Center is a comprehensive community, education, and research center focused on improving health outcomes in the Gulf States region (Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, and Texas). Our work involves coalition building, health education, and interdisciplinary, community-based research. We are committed to identifying health policies that will ultimately improve the health rankings of the region.

The UAB Minority Health & Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC) will host the 12th annual UAB Health Disparities Research Symposium on May 3, 2017at the DoubleTree Hotel. This year’s symposium will take an in-depth look at the role of social determinants in population health. Abstracts must be submitted by Friday, March 3!
