The Gulf States Health Policy Center was created in 2013 by Dr. Regina Benjamin. Dr. Benjamin’s unique experience in medicine, from being a country doctor in the bayou to serving as U.S. Surgeon General, informed the development of this innovative policy center which works alongside local communities to improve health outcomes and health rankings in the Gulf States.
