Engaging communities is central to the mission and purpose of the Gulf States Health Policy Center, which seeks to empower communities and increase their capacity to improve health outcomes.

The Gulf States Health Policy Coalition unites community members, partner organizations, and service providers with an interest in increasing community resilience and improving health. Members meet monthly in three locations to collaborate, strengthen our collective voice, and build capacity for policy change.

The coalition takes a broad, interdisciplinary view of health, addressing a range of issues that includes financial literacy, education, transportation, school wellness, health care, healthy foods, and pharmacy care, among others.
